Sony Digital Cameras

The latest digital cameras from Sony

Sony has been providing digital cameras ever since the type existed and the Cyber-Shot model name has lived for most of that time. Sony uses this name for it's whole range from compact, through semi-pro to professional models so it means very little really. Focusing primarily on the compact end of the spectrum, Sony is now spreading it's wings into the semi-pro market now with it's DSLR range.

Featured Review - Sony Cyber-shot DSLR-A100W

The new DSLR A100 from Sony arrived last year as the company's first entry into the lucrative but very competitive Digital SLR market. Not that there are many candidate cameras in this sector, with Nikon and Canon dominating, but the main players are serious performers and this new entry from Sony certainly has it's work cut out to make an impact. This model is packed with all the required features and includes a lens mount compatible with Minolta lenses, but despite a full feature list, quality does not surpass that of similar Nikon and Canon cameras and with very little price differential, we can;t see many buyers being tempted away from the heavyweights.
